I don't know why I even try to maintain my social life while class is in session. I went down to NYC this past weekend. (And had a fantabulous time as always. See Avenue Q. It's brilliant) Now, of course, I'm behind on my coursework and catching up is a bitch.

Boo! Have to get up way too early to perform my civil duty. I object!

I'm off to Hawaii tomorrow morning! I just need to make it through the rest of the afternoon, do some last minute packing and get my nails done!

Seriously, I cannot wait. Once I get back, the semester starts again and my course load is nothing to sneer at. It will be time to get back to work!

My old roommate's mom died last night. Kiki was one of my best friends in college and we lived together for a year after she came back from her Fulbright and before she started graduate school. I love her. I wish she didn't have to suffer as I am now.

But I will do all that I can to be there for her.

You know, I like my job. It pays for grad school and since I'm way over-qualified to be a secretary, it's pretty easy. That said, since I am over-qualified, I often find myself running statistics and compiling data and standing in front of the dean giving presentations when it isn't in my job description to do so. It's so hot in Boston. I haven't turned off my A/C in about three days. Thank god electricity is included in my rent. At least I get to stay indoors most of the day. My Daddy is a saint! And I am one spoiled little girl. My car died last night. My Dad drove down this morning and it's running! And since he thought it was too dirty, he took it to the car wash! I never take my car to the car wash. It's too expensive. Ah, he's a good, good man and I love him to pieces.

I can't believe I have to stay on campus until 10 o'clock tonight...and that it's only 2:30. Something tells me it's going to be a long afternoon.
